We're delighted to introduce the latest improvements to Sip, focusing primarily on the color picker itself. We rebuilt it from the ground up, making it incredibly intuitive and user-friendly.

✨ New Features

• New Color Picker: Our main highlight is the complete redesign of the color picker, offering a fresh and more intuitive user experience.
• Simplified Shortcuts: We've streamlined the shortcut system, consolidating all functionality into one menu activated by pressing Shift.

• Merged Multiple Colors and Create a Palette: Adding multiple colors and creating palettes are now combined into a “multiple colors” option. Select the colors you want, then choose to add them to an existing palette or create a new one.

• Efficient Multi-Color Picking: No more holding shortcuts while picking multiple colors. Select 'Pick multiple colors' from the Shift menu, pick your colors, and confirm with Enter or cancel with Esc.
• Palette Selection: When saving multiple colors, a menu shows all your palettes with an option to create a new palette, making it simple to choose where your colors belong.
• Check Contrast Feature: A brand-new feature that lets you pick two colors and check their contrast ratio. To continue checking contrast between multiple color pairs, a quick click restarts the process. Press Enter to save picked colors or Esc to cancel.

• Precision Mode: A new feature that allows you to pick colors with pixel-level accuracy. Long-press the color picker to activate precision mode, which slows down the picker movement for better control.

Sip 3.0 introduces the all-new "Main Window," designed to provide a rich and seamless color management experience. With the "Main Window" you can:

Organize Palettes and Colors

Edit

Edit palette names, descriptions, color values, and check and fix contrast between colors.

Grid & List Mode

Choose between viewing colors in a list or grid format, depending on your working style. The list view offers a detailed presentation, while the grid view provides a more condensed view.

Sort

Access your color palettes in your preferred order by sorting colors by name, date created, or date modified.

Improved Sharing and Collaboration

Sip 3.0 brings collaboration among teams by introducing sharing capabilities. You can now share palettes and custom formats between seats. We want to make collaboration effortless and empower effective teamwork.

Redesigned Menu Bar UI

The menu bar was completely redesigned, resulting in a more seamless and intuitive user experience. The UI ensures consistent navigation, similar to the "Window App." The color editor is now presented as a full-screen feature, rather than being collapsed or hidden inside palettes as before.

Additionally, enjoy the flexibility to optimize screen space with double-click functionality on the toolbar, allowing it to expand or collapse to the desired width. Similarly, double-clicking on the bottom bar dynamically adjusts the window height, ensuring content always fits perfectly.

Furthermore, the app retains your location in a sub-page or palette even after closing and reopening, providing a continuous and uninterrupted workflow.

General Updates

The general updates include:

• Improved visual feedback for hovered and selected states in palettes and colors.
• The color preview for transparent colors now displays both the fully opaque color and the alpha percentage.
• Hex input has been made more user-friendly and error-proof, automatically filling in missing characters and removing unnecessary values for smoother input.
• You can now view color names when hovering over colors in a palette, making color identification more efficient.
• Last but not least, the app now has a new icon!
